Building a brighter future
Work has started on a residential care facility within the village. Following extensive consultation, demolition field in Newbiggin is set to benefit from the introduction of an Autism unit. The unit which will be called Alexandra Park and will feature 28 one bedroom bungalows to cater for Autistic people aged between 16 and onwards.

q The Carrs
Barratt are delighted to have acquired an important site located between the town centre and existing residential areas. Its historical name - The Carrs - will be resurrected and traditionally-styled 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties are planned. Among the properties proposed will be 2 bedroom Washington styles.

Be a good neighbour
As the age old adage says, everyone needs good neighbours. To help achieve this we have established the Newbiggin Neighbourhood Management Initiative. The Newbiggin team is based at the Sports Centre bungalow, Woodhorn Road .

Improvements set to be memorable
The proposed improvements to Memorial Square Estate look set to be memorable ones. To coincide with the major investment which is sweeping across the village, Memorial Square is to benefit from a makeover which will include boundary improvements and soft landscaping.

Villagers voice their ideas for seafront changes
Residents have made a 'wish list' of potential seafront improvements that could have visitors flocking to their popular village over the next few years. Over 400 people attended a public exhibition and were given a say on some possible environmental improvements that could be carried out along and around the existing seafront.

Newbiggin Life and Partners launch the Newbiggin
Neighbourhood Management Initiative
Newbiggin is benefiting from £1 million worth of investment, which has seen the creation of a skilled rapid response team. The team will be responsible for providing a high level and variety of council services in response to local peoples’ needs. [Full story]

Newbiggin by the Sea Sailing Club are welcoming all to jump aboard in the New Year and experience some of their exciting new pursuits. Moving onwards
Having had many great times at the old Police Station in Woodlea, we've closed the office and are moving on. We're still in the process of searching for our new premises but hope to be settled within the community in the New Year.
