Fruits of the urban forest
Over the next few months Newbiggin LIFE will be looking to plant community feedback into their exciting new urban forest project.
The proposed urban forest is set to revitalise the village with plans to create a space to promote otudoor activities and to offer residents a quiet retreat to relax.
The urban forest surrounding Newbiggin will feature new outdoor pursuits and previous suggestions include a community farm and bridle paths within its leafy backdrop.
We want to find out what you, the local resident, would like to see included in the forest. Local school children are already joining us in putting forward their ideas for the development.
Urban forest consultation days have been arranged during the week starting 9th January where Newbiggin LIFE hopes to establish a voluntary working group that will collaborate with the projects architects. Artist impressions will be available to view on the day and all are welcome to attend and forward any ideas for the development. The 2006 edition of the Newbiggin LIFE Calendar will be available free to everyone who participates.
Please come along and be involved in the growth of the urban forest! The dates and venues of the public consultation days are as follows:
Monday 9th January at Elizabeth Hall 2.00pm-7.00pm
Thursday 12th & Friday 13th January at St Bartholomew's Church Hall 2.00pm-7.00pm
