Sarah keeps local interest at the heart of life The Newbiggin LIFE in initiative is continuing to maintain local interest at the heart of its regeneration of the area.
Sarah Witherley has been appointed Community Support Officer and its newest member of the team. With a keen interest, Sarah will be responsible for communicating with local residents and ensuring the overall regeneration plan is carried out effectively.
Sarah, who grew up in the local area, recently graduated with a degree in Housing from Northumbria University. Her previous experience in higher education led her to realise her passion to become involved with closer community initiatives.
"It's important to bring about positive change for the village and is something that can be achieved by addressing the concerns and needs of the community," adds Sarah.
"I am delighted to be part of such an enthusiastic team at Newbiggin Life and I am looking forward to moving the area forward to reaching its full potential."
In addition Roberta Buchanan recently accepted a promotion to Life Initiative Manager.
Having worked for Newbiggin LIFE for three years as a Community Support Officer, Roberta will be responsible for managing both Newbiggin Life and East Ashington Life projects.
"I am looking forward to helping drive both Newbiggin and East Ashington Life forward, continuing their success and bringing about positive change within these areas to the benefit of existing and new residents."
