Community Policing
From the open day results, it's clear that you would like to see enhanced policing in the village. This is what you said:
How would you describe the service offered by Northumbria Police for the village?
Issues such as vandalism, theft and anti-social behaviour are a concern.
Which of these crimes do you perceve to be a problem in the village?

Newbiggin Life will work with Northumbria
Police to tackle these matters, Inspector
Truscott and his team are committed to
working with focus groups which will be
created for each zone, in order to improve
the community's perception of
the service provided by
the police in the village.
"Northumbria Police are committed to reducing crime and disorder together with reducing the fear of crime by working
together with the whole community.
The views of residents about policing services are welcome as it assists us in improving service delivery to the people of Newbiggin.
"I acknowledge the genuine concerns of people about crime and disorder and recognise that there is always room for improvement. however inroads have been made.
"For example burglaries to peoples homes have been reduced by 19% and theft of motor vehicles have been reduced by 28% during the last year. That in real terms makes fewer victims of crime. This coming year we want to focus on continuing to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. By working with all the community we are determined to further reduce crime and disorder and address those quality of life issues which promote the fear of crime".
