Dirt Alert!

Newbiggin is on dirt alert with the introduction of a new mini sweeper and park force warden buggy to help the local area brush up their acts!

As part of the Neighbourhood Management Initiative, which is investing £1 million into the area to improve residents’ services, the mini sweeper will play an essential role in keeping the estates’ streets clean while the park force buggy will be used to get quickly around all the open green spaces in Newbiggin.
The mini sweeper features a water tank to help clear leaves and debris from gutters - this can also contain weed killer to help eradicated unwanted plants growing in footpaths and at the side of the road - and small brushes to allow the vehicle to sweep back streets and alleyways.

The buggy will be used by the new park force rangers Joe and David to provide a quick response to parks and green spaces by maintaining cleaner and safer public spaces as well as helping to react to instances of anti-social behaviour and nuisance.

The mini sweeper and park force buggy will make regular patrols of the estates and green spaces and will be able to respond quickly to any reports of litter or un-maintained areas.
