More new homes for sale or rent
Providing new homes for sale or rent has been one of the cornerstones
of the early success of the Newbiggin LIFE initiative.
Villagers will recall that Grainger Homes’ Woodhorn Farm estate was the first new private homes’ development Newbiggin for more than two decades.
Now leading national house builder Barratt’s is constructing 45 starter and family-sizes homes at The Carrs, just behind the centre of the village. The homes being built on the £3m development, include the two bedroom Washington, three bedroom and three storey Norbury townhouses, the three bedroom Derwent, Palmerston and Brandon homes, plus the four bedroom Woodcotes and detached Gloucester properties.
Barratt’s field sales manager Jade Harrison says the company is delighted to be building in Newbiggin. “The village is undergoing tremendous regeneration at the moment, and that, together with its attractive coastal setting, makes it a desirable place to live for a wide range of buyers from those looking to get their foot on the first rung of the ladder to empty-nesters who fancy retiring to the seaside.”
In addition to the much-needed new homes, the company is contributing towards the cost of new play facilities to the north of its development.
